On Monday, January 21st, Americans across the country will come together as part of an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, in support of our neighbors and our community.
ACCPF is partnering with our local schools for a garden volunteer day. Spend an hour (or more) helping to spruce up the beautiful Canyon Oaks or Donaldson Way School Gardens on MLK Day. Lunch and beverages provided for all volunteers.
WHEN: Monday, January 21st, from 10 am – 1 pm Stay for lunch, snacks and drinks at 12:45 pm.
WHERE: Canyon Oaks Elementary: 475 Silver Oak Trail, American Canyon Donaldson Way Elementary: 430 Donaldson Way, American Canyon
WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
*Canyon Oaks Elementary – Volunteer help needed: plant bare root berries, weed and amend beds, dismantle one garden bed, general weeding and transplanting, build benches and boxes for new sensory garden, and repaint and sand picnic benches. *Donaldson Way Elementary – Volunteer help needed: plant bare root berries, weed and amend beds, replant dead trees, general weeding and clean up. Help is also needed to repair garden irrigation. Bring garden gloves if you have them, a few hoes for weeding are needed as well. Garden Teacher/Coordinator: Maureen McCullough Email questions to: mccullough@nvusd.org
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone can join in and help! Kids 5 and over are welcome with an adult.

*Day of walk in’s are welcome! WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR BRING?
Wear long pants, close toed shoes, and dress in layers. Bring garden gloves if you have them. All other supplies (and food!) provided. Thank you for helping to spruce up our beautiful school gardens. We look forward to seeing you!
