Join us to learn all about the graceful Monarch butterfly and take home tips for making your yard butterfly friendly!
Plus Butterfly coloring sheets for the kids, Milkweed starts to take home, and Butterfly specimens to view up close. Join us for this family friendly WILD AC!
The monarch butterfly is one of our most beautiful and beloved native insects. Join Sonoma State Ecologist, Chris Ineich for
a fascinating discussion of the Monarch’s biology, including the remarkable story of coevolution between the butterfly and its
larval host plant milkweed.
This is not a tale of friendly pollinator host mutualism, but of a Machiavellian predator-prey arms race! We’ll also explore the alarming decline of monarch populations, and detail how you might help the iconic insect by turning your yard
into a monarch waystation.
WILD American Canyon events are free but donations are gratefully accepted. Light refreshments served.
